Abstract: THIS SURVEY IS THE ONLY SOURC OF COMPREHENSIVE DATA ON POLLUTION ABATEMENT CAPITAL EXPENDITURES, OPERATING COSTS AND COST RECOVERED AND USED TO DETERMINE WHAT EFFECT POLLUTION SPENDING HAS ON THE U.S. ECONOMY, TO FORECAST GROWTH, TO MEASURE PRODUCTIVITY DETERMINANTS AND ASSIST IN THE CALCULATION OF THE GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT.
