Abstract: SURVEY IS THE ONLY SOURCE O DATA ON CURRENT COTTON GINNINGS. DATA ARE VITAL TO THE U.S. DEPARTMEN OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) IN PREPARING MONTHLY COTTON PRODUCTION FORECASTS CLASSIFICATION, AND PRODUCTION COSTESTIMATES. DATA ARE USED BY THE ENTIRE COTTON INDUSTRY AND ARE VITAL IN PROVIDING FOR A STABLE MARKET. THE RESPONDENTS ARE COTTON GINNERS.
