The information
collection for participating in and receiving data from the
National Driver Registry Problem Driver Pointer System is approved
through June 30, 1991. At that time, NHTSA must submit a new
supporting statement discussing the impact of increased usage of
the system by the Federal Government and other non-State entities.
Use of the registry within the Department of Transportation has
increased substantially, yet no mention of this has been made in
the present supporting statement nor the burden estimates. Given
the number of non-State users, this issue should be addressed
before any further approval.
