Your clearance request for extension of the current occupational wage survey program (DOL, 8/29/90) is approved through November 1993. The requested test questionnaire as amended November 15, 1990 is approved through October,1990 modified to: 1) include three additional questions on part time employment (1, 2A, and 2B), and 2) exclude the demographic data page. To obtain approval for testing of the demographic data page, BLS should submit an Information Correction Worksheet with a detailed justification of the purpose of each new data element, including the principal uses of the data and a discussion of the adequacy of the sample size to support the described uses. To obtain extension of the test questions beyond October 1992, BLS should submit the results of the test, including item response information and comments received from employers concerning the additional burden added by the test questionnaire compared with the previous questionnaire. Remarks entered 01/30/91 - The OMB remarks transmitted with an action date of December 2, 1991 are corrected to indicate: 1) approval of th test questionnaire through October, 1992, and 2) to grant your request to omit printing the expiration date on forms 2751A, 2752a, and 2752B.

SURVEY RESULTS ARE USED IN A VARIETY OF FEDERAL AND NON-FEDERAL PURPOSES, INCLUDING SERVICE CONTRACT ACT WAGE DETERMINATIONS AND FEDERAL PAY COMPARABILITY. THE NEW OWS TEST FORM WILL IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE COLLECTION PROCESS.
