The methodology
of this study is limited in its ability to account for temporal and
geographical variables. These limitations call into question the
general applicability of any result which may be obtained from the
study. OMB, therefore, urges that any future use of the results of
this study be done with caution, and with full recognition of the
limitations of the data OMB also strongly suggests that this study
be repeated in other geographical locations in order to improve the
general applicability of the results. Although the study
oversamples children who exihibit pica behavior, the study may
prove useful in developing an improved estimate of the average
amount of soil ingested by children.
