Abstract: CONDUCT FURTHER EXAMINATION OF SOIL INGESTION IN WA STATE POPULATION THAT HAS BEEN STUDIED IN PREVIOUS EPA PILOT STUDIES. 500 YOUNG CHILDR WILL BE RANDOMLY SELECTED USING STATE BIRTH RECORDS. PARENTS WILL BE QUESTIONED ABOUT MOUTHING AND PICA BEHAVIOR IN THESE CHILDREN. 50 CHILDREN WITH HIGHEST PICA AND MOUTHING SCORES AND 50 CONTROLS WILL PARTICIPATE IN TWO-WEEK LONG STUDIES OF SOIL INGESTION.
