Abstract: THE BUREAU'S HIP PROVIDES HOUSING ASSISTANCE TO NEEDY INDIANS WHO ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR HOUSING ASSISTANCE FROM OTHER FEDERALLY ASSISTED PROGRAMS. TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY AND PRIORITY IN TERMS OF NEED, CERTAIN INFORMATION MUST BE PROVIDED BY EACH APPLICANT. ON THE BASIS OF THIS INFORMATION, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH 25 CFR PART 256.5, TRIBES DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY, PRIORITY, AND THE AMOUNT OF HIP FUNDS
