We have approved
this information collection through may 1994, the thr year period
that NIOSH deems necessary to complete this pilot study. In
assessing the results of this study, NIOSH shall not recommend
expanded use of this device unless the study shows that the
portable self-recording flow meter produces (statistically)
significantly more accurate and precise data than coventional
spirometry techniques do. I addition, NIOSH shall fully compare the
reproducibility of results received from different flow
meters.
