Abstract: SECTION 314 OF THE FEDERAL LAND POLICY AND MANAGEMENT ACT OF 1976 (43 USC 1744) REQUIRES THAT ALL MINING CLAIMS AND SITES BE RECORDED WITH THE BUREAU AND THAT EACH YEAR THEREAFTER, THE OWNER OF THE CLAIM OR SITE MUST FILE EITHER A PROOF OF ANNUAL ASSESSMENT WORK OR A NOTICE OF INTENT TO HOLD FOR TH CLAIM OR SITE. RESPONDENTS MAY RANGE FROM AN INDIVIDUAL TO A MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATION.
