Abstract: MAJOR DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURERS PROVIDE NHTSA WITH TECHNICAL AND FUEL ECONOMY PERFORMANCE INFORMATION WHICH IS EXAMINED TO SEE HOW THE MANUFACTURER WILL COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE AVERAGE FUEL ECONOMY STANDARDS.
