We have extended
approval of those information collection requirements at 29 CFR
1918 and 1919 which the agency believes are subject to the
Paperwork Reduction Act. OSHA has acknowledged that it should
undertak rulemaking to revise the reporting requirements at 29 CFR
1919.13(b) a 29 CFR 1919.11(e) and (f). OSHA has stated that it
will not undertake this rulemaking for several years because staff
have been committed to other projects. In the next submission, the
agency should report a revised schedule for completion of these
rulemaking changes. Because have granted a lengthy approval for the
use of forms 70, 71, and 72, w have not waived the expiration date
requirements of 5 CFR 1320.4. Finally, we have not recorded the
10,724 hour adjustment requested by OSHA because this decrease was
recorded in our last action, when total recordable burden fell from
38,254 to 27,530 hours.
