Abstract: THE PURPOSE OF THE RULES IS TO CLARIFY THE REGULATORY TREATMENT UNDER THE COMMODITY EXCHANGE ACT OF INSTRUMENTS WHICH APPEAR TO POSSESS LIMITED INDICIA OF COMMODITY OPTIONS. THE RULES PROVIDE A REGULATORY EXEMPTION PROCEDURE REQUIRING NOTICE TO THE COMMODITY FUTURES TRADING COMMISSION UNDER CERTAIN LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES.
