Abstract: DATA IS USED TO ASCERTAIN THE TOTAL SUPPLY OF UNMANUFACTURED TOBACCO AVAILABLE TO DOMESTIC MANUFACTURERS AND TO PUBLISH REPORTS ON NATIONAL TOTALS FOR THE MANUFATURE AND SALE OF SNUFF AND SMOKING AND CHEWING TOBACCO. DATA ADJUSTMENT ACT OF 1938 AND SUBSEQUENT PRICE SUPPORT LEGISLATION IS REQUIRED TO CALCULATE PRODUCTION QUOTAS AND MONITOR THE SIZE, GROWTH, OR DECLINE OF THE MARKET.
