Abstract: CONGRESS REQUIRES THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION (U.S. COAST GUARD) T APPROVE THE LOCATION AND PLANS FOR CONSTRUCTION/MODIFICATION OF BRIDGE ACROSS NAVIGABLE WATERS OF THE UNITED STATES. THE PROSPECTIVE BRIDGE BUILDER MUST MAKE A WRITTEN REQUEST TO THE COAST GUARD FOR SUCH APPROVAL.
