Abstract: TO PROVIDE MIDYEAR AND ADVANCE YEAR-END COUNTS OF THE NUMBER OF INMATES IN STATE AND FEDERAL PRISONS. THESE DATA WILL FORM THE BASIS FOR HISTORICAL TREND ANALYSES. RESPONDENTS ARE PERSONNEL IN THE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT OF EACH STATE, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, AND THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS.
