September 1997 to allow for public comment on the information
collection provisions contained in 29 CFR 1910.95, the regulations
governing Occupational Exposure to Noise, under the procedures of
the new Paperwork Reduction Act. Given the burden imposed by this
regulation, DOL will solicit comment on ways that the information
collection provisions could be revised or implemented differently
to reduce burden while still achieveing the purposes of the rule.
As required by the new PRA, DOL will include a summary of public
comments recieved as part of the record supporting its request for
PRA clearance to OMB.

access to employer various records and ensure that employers are
complying with disclosure provisions of occupational exposure to
noise.
