In accordance
with the Paperwork Reduction Act and 5 CFR Part 1320 this
information collection request is disapproved. FSIS must either
seek a generic clearance for these hotline surveys which shows a
program need for repetitive data collection that are so similar
that they can be collectively described without going into deep
detail, or FSIS must seek approval for each individual survey. If
each hotline survey is unique and targetted they cannot qualify for
generic clearance. The current information collection request does
not show a need to sample public opinion, does not show how the
data will be used, does not show how many surveys will be done, and
what kinds of questions will be asked.
