Abstract: These two surveys of academic research facilities (1996 and 1998) will update data from previous biennial surveys of 1988, 1992, and 1994 and will document trends in facilities amount, condition, adequacy, cost, and needs. Findings will be used to inform institution, State, and Federal facilities programs and policy.
