The FCC is
allowed to delete the expiration date on the FCC 1240 provided an
edition date is used. The FCC should also consider the following
when resubmitting this collection for approval under "regular"
processing: a) adding a question to page 1 that requires respondent
to acknowledge submission of the required FCC 1205, b) clarifying
notice that worksheets must be used several times or adding
additional copies of worksheets to package and software, c)
including information on FCC help lines such as provided in FCC
1210 form, d) changing the current toll call to obtain FCC
inflation factors to a '800' number and also providing these
figures electronically using a bulletin board accessible by
Internet and also by fax-on-demand.

The form 1240 will be used by cable
operators to file for adjustments in maximum permitted rates for
regulated services to reflect external costs. The form 1240
implements a new optional rate methodology where cable operators
will be permitted to make annual, as opposed to quarterly, rate
changes. It is a filing alternative to the FCC form 1210.
