The Summary Data Component (SDC) of
the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) collects
aggregate data from State child protective services agencies on key
indicators of child abuse and neglect. Data collected on victims of
abuse and neglect, perpetrators of child mistreatment, and reports
received by child protective services agencies are used to monitor
trends and guide policy and program development at the national,
State, and local levels.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
