OMB approves the
customer satisfaction survey submitted on January 15, 1997. In
addition, Coast Guard should continue to pu t together a final
listing, particularly those which fall in cate gory 1 of the
October 3, 1996 memorandum from OIRA to the DOT Cle arance Office
(Clarke/Leach memo). Until such time as these item s have been
finally reviewed and approved, Coast Guard should submit brief
justifications and the survey instruments it propose s to use.

Customer satisfaction surveys are
required by EO 12862. The U.S. Coast Guard will use the information
obtained from direct customers or measure satisfaction with current
services and determine whether additional services are
requested.
