As indicated in
the request for generic clearance, Coast Guard will provide a copy
of each survey instrument as well as a description of the activity
and the number of burden hours involved for each survey undertaken
which is on the approved list. In addition, Coast Guard will submit
a progress report required by the Manual at the end of calendar
years 1997, 1998 and 1999.

Customer satisfaction surveys are
required by Executive Order 12862. The U.S. Coast Guard will use
the information obtained from direct customers to measure
satisfaction with current services and determine whether additional
services are requested.
