Abstract: 76.221(a) and (c) state that when a cable operator engaged in origination cablecasting presents any matter of which valuable consideration is paid, the operator must announce the sponsorship of such matter if the sponsor has not already done so. This requirement is waived for the broadcast of "want ads" sponsored by an individual but the licensee shall maintain a list of advertisers. 76.221(d) states that when a cablecast is of political or controversial nature, cable oeprators are required to retain a list of the cablecast's sponsors.
