OMB approves this study as amended by the correspondences of January 10 and 29, 1997. In particular, OMB emphasizes the significance of CDC's receipt of the Department's Assurance of Confidentiality under Section 308(d) of the Public Health Service Act. CDC must maintain the confidentiality assurance for the life of the project and must not conduct any aspect of this study without it. With respect to the additional studies CDC proposed to conduct under the same approval, OMB determines that the agency's request is not permissable under the PRA. Only after adhering to the PRA's requirements, including seeking public comment and receiving OMB approval, is CDC permitted to conduct other studies of reproductive outcomes in female occupational groups.
