NSF must also consult with the Department of Labor prior to initiating this collection, and with the Department of Education prior to fielding the next version (to ensure no duplication with the Baccalaureate and Beyond collection).

Abstract: The NSRCG will support NSF in its legislative mandate to provide information on the Nation's scientists and engineers. The NSRCG:97 will collect comprehensive information on the education and employment of recent college graduates in the sciences and engineering and will follow up a sample of earlier degree recipients and collect data on their careers and education.
