In accordance with 5 CFR 1320, the information collection is approved for two years. The two year clearance is approved in light of the redesign of the NSCG using the American Community Survey and subsequent possible changes or repurposing of the NSRCG in future cycles. As agreed with NSF, in resubmission to OMB, the agency will include: (1) A discussion of the future directions for NSRCG in light of the opportunities to include recent graduates more readily in the NSCG; and as remains relevant, (2) The incorporation of an updated frame for the school sample or a detailed description of efforts to assess frame coverage error involved in continued reuse of the 2003 frame. (3) Discussion of possible mode effects between the paper and pencil, CATI and web forms of the instrument and plans to mitigate them given the results of the planned 2010 NSCG mode study. Also included should be plans for a NSRCG-specific mode study or justification for why a separate study may not be warranted. (4) A description and possible questionnaire changes to provide clearer instructions to respondents answering that they have not completed high school.
