Abstract: The evaluation of NSF's programs in design and manufacturing research will provide information to NSF on various outcomes and impacts of support in these areas and may provide valuable insights into how effectively the programs have operated and whether any changes in the objectives, managements, or other aspects of the program may be warranted. Information will be gathered by surveying all 300 FY 1986 PI's and developing 15 case studies of projects demonstrating significant outcomes.
