EPA is responsible for the regulation of pesticides under the Federal Fungicide, Insecticide, and Rodenticide Act. The Worker Protection Standard requires agricultural employers to ensure that agricultural workers and pesticide handlers are trained in basic safety practices and informed via oral or written notification about pesticide applications. Workers must also be informed when exceptions to early entry apply. Training of pesticide handlers and workers is an integral part of this program.
