FERC-542 is required by the Commission to track/monitor a variety of natural gas cost catagories related to transportation, capacity, and service obligations. The filings are made by interstate natural gas pipelines to recover a variety of transportation-associated costs in connection with the implementation of Commission Order No. 636 (Restructuring of the Natural Gas Industry). In addition, these filings are filed as limited Natural Gas Act section 4 filings with an attendent reduction of burden in overall supporting documentation requirements.
