The formaldehyde standard and its
information collections are designed to provide protection for
employees from the adverse health effects associated with
occupational exposure to formaldehyde. The standard requires
employers to monitor employee exposure and provide notification to
employees of their exposure. Employers are required to make
available medical surveillance to employees. Employers are also
required to communicate hazards associated with exposure to
formaldehyde through signs, labels, and employee training.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
