Public Law 101-510 and Department of Defense (DoD) policy authorizes separating service members, their spouses, and eligible Department of Defense Federal employees to complete applications to register in the DORS data base (this is a resume data base). Once registered, employers can request resumes and offer jobs to these individuals. Public Law 102-484 requires the Secretary of Defense to maintain a public and community service organization and personnel registry.
