The FCC has requested emergency clearance to require Local Exchange Carriers to file additional information related to their access charges. These additional requirements were established in CC Docket 97-250 released on January 28, 1998. The FCC has permission to request that all LECs provide the information required in the course of this investigation -- not only the specific entities listed. The FCC shall use information correction worksheets to document additional burden.

The Commission is investigating local exhcange carriers tariff filings that reflect changes in the rules governing their access rate levels. The information collected under this Order would be submitted to the FCC by incumbent LECs for the use in determining whether the incumbent LEC properly calculated its tariffed rates in its December 17, 1997, tariff filing.
