Terms of Clearance: OMB is not approving this approval request at this time for the following reason: Because provisions on the recently enacted Workforce Investment Act (WIA) will require ED to make substantive changes to the NPRM which will have a direct effect on the reporting and recordkeeping requirements, it is more appropiate for OMB to review these regulatory provisions under the PRA when ED makes the necessary changes conforming to WIA requirements. Therefore, ED should submit a revised package to OMB in conjunction with submitting a final rule and should plan to take the necessary steps under the PRA (e.g., Federal Register Notices) so that the new package is submitted in a timely fashion under regular clearance procedures. In the interim, ED's current approval will still be valid and will lapse on 12/31/98.

Abstract: This form collects data to evaluate the performance of PWI grant recipients with respect to their compliance with evaluation standards mandated by Congress, to enable RSA to meet annual statutorily mandated reporting requirements, and to enable RSA to make determinations regarding continued eligibility.
