Hazardous Waste Management
Systems Modifications of the Hazardous Waste Recycling Regulatory
Program, Standards for Universal Waste Management -- 40 CFR
Extension without change of a currently approved collection
EPA believes that reducing regulatory
requirements for wastes termed universal wastes facilitate the
collection and appropriate management of these wastes and foster
the recycling of them, since most regulatory impedements that
existed prior to promulga- tion of the rule no longer exit.
Additionally, because universal wastes are frequently generated in
a wide variety of settings other than the industrial settings,
which is usually associated with hazardous wastes, streamlined
regulators are necessary to ensure that regulated parties from
diverse situations can comply, without expending unreasonable
amounts on time and effort....
