Approved as
amended by and consistent with DOL's memo and attachments of
7/29/98 and 8/11/98. In addition, DOL agrees to the following
conditions of clearance: 1) DOL will provide OMB with updates of
all validation activities by submitting addendums to this package
that summarizes validation activities and results; 2) DOL will
change the current cover letter that respondents receive so that it
is from DOL (using DOL letter-head) rather than contractor; 3) DOL
will analyze the feasibility of using TANF records, in addition to
the other records DOL currently uses for validation. DOL will
report to OMB on the feasibility of this when DOL provides OMB with
the first update on validation consistent with term #1 above; 4)
OMB notes: a) In outlining in the supporting materials the research
questions to be answered, DOL inadvertantly ommitted race as one of
the groups in which DOL will assess whether Job Corps is more or
less effective, b) The previous terms of clearance under 1205-0360
and 1205-0351 are still in effect.
