Rule 17a-5 sets forth the reports that a registered broker-dealer is required to prepare and file with the Commission. The rule facilitates the monitoring of the financial condition of securities brokers and dealers by the Commission. The amendment to the rule will require broker-dealers with minimum net capital requirements of $5,000 or greater to file with the Securities and Exchange Commission and their designated examining authority form BD-Y2K.
