Approved as
amended by and consistent with DOL's memo to OMB of 11/23/98. In
addition, DOL agrees to the following conditions: 1) As a part of
DOL's initiative to validate self-reported crime data with
administrative/penal records in the District of Columbia, DOL will
make every effort not only to identify each obstacle/problem
encountered, but to develop solutions to each obstacle/problem so
that validation efforts may be replicable outside of the District
of Columbia for this study and other DOL studies where
self-reported crime data is at issue. 2) DOL will, prior to
implementing these surveys, submit for OMB review the revised
confidentiality language consistent with DOL's response 3i in the
11/23 memo. 3) Consistent with the 11/23 memo, DOL will send to OMB
the proposed methodology and strategy for implementing the
cost-benefit anlaysis as an addendum to this clearance package. 4)
DOL will continue its efforts to consult with the Education
Department on the development and implementation of this
evaluation.
