state-based surveillance system; projections for when all States
will participate; and a plan to incorporate these two reporting
systems to eliminate the duplication. This information shall be
provided to OMB by 2/15/98.

The Childhood Lead Poisoning
Prevention Program quarterly report collects information quarterly
on childhood lead screening and follow-up activities conducted in
jurisdictions served by the 44 CDC childhood lead poisoning
prevention grant recipients. The respondents are the 44 State and
local health departments that have received CDC funds for
initiation or expansion of State and local childhood lead poisoning
prevention programs. Data reported to CDC is used to describe the
incidence of lead poisoning in areas covered by reporting and to
evaluate the effectiveness of the programs receiving....
