The Electric Power Surveys collect
information on electric power capacity, generation, fuel
consumption, fuel receipts, fuel stocks, prices, electric rates,
construction costs, and operating income and revenue. Form EIA-417R
collects data on electric power disturbances. Respondents include
electric utilities, non-utility electric power producers, electric
reliability council members, and independent electric power system
operators. Electric power data collected are used by the Department
of Energy for analysis and forecasting. Data are published in
various EIA reports.
