Approximately 20 telecommunications
companies including Bell Operating Companies are asked to
voluntarily submit information to the Commission to evaluate the
status and development of competition in the local exchange
telecommunications markets and the state of broadband deployment.
The information will be used by Commission economists and carrier
analysts to advise the Commission about the efficacy of Commission
rules and policies adopted to implement the Telecommunications Act
of 1996.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
