addition, the following terms apply: (1) OMB commends ED on its
efforts to move away from the private network TIV WAN to a web
based network. (2) Consistent with the 7/8 memo, ED will implement
a TIV WAN enrollment website with an electronic signature
alternative no later than 12/31/99. (3) By the next submission of
this package for clearance, ED will implement the D-U-N-S as the
single numeric insititution identifier for the SAIG enrollment
form. If ED cannot implement by this time, ED will include a
strategy with specific timeframes for implementing the
D-U-N-S.

The Student Aid Internet Gateway
(SAIG) enrollment form will be used by postsecondary institutions,
third-party, software providers, lenders, guaranty agencies, and
State scholarship programs. This will allow participants to have
electronic access, to receive and transmit, view and update student
financial aid data. The Department will use this information on the
enrollment form to assign customers a Student Aid Internet Gateway
ID and associate title IV services selected by the
customer.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
