FERC-539 information is required by the Commission under section 3 of the Natural Gas Act and for Presidential permits under Executive Order No. 10485 for sitting, construction, operation, and modification to natural gas import/export facilities and general regulations applying to holders of such section 3 authorizations and Presidential permits. The data are used to determine if an interstate pipeline's filing complies with the regulations and is in the public interest. FERC-539 reflects the updating of Commission regulations as adopted in Docket No. RM-98-9-000 (Final Rule (Order No. 603) issued April 29, 1999).
