Vibrio species are naturally occuring marien bacteria and an important cause of seafoodborne and wound-associated illnesses. Data collected and study results will be shared with health officials and representatives of the Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference and National Fisheries Institute. The FDA has requested these data to identify interventions that may reduce the burden of seafoodborne vibriosis.
