In the North Pacific, contractors
provide observer services to the Alaska groundfish fishery.
Observers collect basic fishery data. Companies must be certified
in order to provide such services, and new entrants must supply
information showing they meet the criteria for certification.
Certified contractors must provide specified information on their
activities to allow oversight and certain planning activities.
Contractors or specific observers who are suspended and/or
decertified for cause may file appeals.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
