The Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) requires the Commission to make rules that regulate the conduct and recordkeeping of lawful electronic surveillance. The Report and Order in this proceeding adopts rules which differ substantially from the earlier proposed rules which received OMB approval as noted above. The Order on Reconsideration corrects rules adopted in the Report and Order.
