Pursuant to the Antarctic Marine
Living Resources Act of 1984, NOAA participates in the Convention
for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR).
CCAMLR has recently established new requirements for the management
of certain toothfish. New requirements include a catch
documentation scheme. Related dealer requirements are also being
altered to require re-export and transshipment permits and to alter
the timing of import tickets. These requirements are necessary to
meet U.S. international obligations for managing these
fisheries.
