The objectives of the Environmental
Radiation Ambient Monitoring System (ERAMS) are to provide a means
of estimating ambient levels of radioactive pollutants in our
environment, to follow trends in environmental radioactivity
levels, and to detect and assess the impact of fallout and other
intrusions of radioactive materials. Data generated from EPA's
ERAMS have been and are being used to provide the information base
for making decisions necessary to ensure the protection and public
health.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
