Abstract: The objectives of the Enviromental Radiation Ambient Monitoring System (ERAMS) are to provide a means of estimating ambient levels of radioactive pollutants in our enviroment, to follow trends in environmental readiactivity levels, and to detect and assess the impact of fallout and other intrusions of radioactive materials. Data generated from EPA's ERAMS have been and are being used to provide the information base for making decisions necessary to ensure the protection of public health.
