Database (NMED) for the Collection of Event Report, Response,
Analysis, and Follow-up Data on Events Involving the Use of Atomic
Energy Act Radioactive Byproduct Mat.
This information
collection is approved for the full three years. However, the data
collected through this instrument should not by itself be
considered sufficient to support regulatory action. In order to
support a rulemaking, the Commission should undertake a
better-controlled information collection effort.

NRC policy requires licensees to
report incidents and events involving the use of radioactive
byproduct, source materal, such as those involvinag a radiation
overexposure, leaking, or contaminated sealed sources, lost or
stolen radioactive material, equipment failures, and abandoned well
logging sources and medi- cal misadministrations. NRC is requesting
that the Agreement States provide information on the initial
notification, response actions, and follow-up investigations on
events and medical misadministration involving the use of the
nuclear materials.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
