The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), as
amended in 1996, requires the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
to establish criteria for a monitoring program for unregulated
contaminants and, by August 6, 1999, to publish a list of
contaminants to be moni- tored. In fulfillment of this requirement,
EPA published the Revisions to the Unregulated Contaminant
Monitoring Regulation (UCMR) and additional revisions establishing
methods for perchlorate and acetochlor, that included a list of
contaminants to be monitored.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
